Tree removal with rigging lines and a stump grinder in a backyard

Tree care

Healthy trees. Safer yards.

Regular pruning keeps trees healthier and safer. Removing dead, broken and overgrown branches cuts down on limbs falling during storms, lets more light reach the lawn below and keeps branches off the roof and away from the house. It also helps a tree put its energy into healthy growth.

When a tree is dead, dying or simply in the wrong place, removal is the safer choice. We use rigging and specialized equipment to lower trees in controlled sections when there isn't room to drop them whole, working carefully around the house, fences and landscaping.

After a removal, the stump doesn't have to stay. We grind stumps below ground level so you can plant, seed or sod over the spot. And when a storm brings down a tree or leaves a large limb hanging, call or text us photos and we'll talk through how to handle it safely.

A tree that's cared for early rarely turns into an emergency later.

Know the signs

Signs a tree needs attention

  • Dead or hanging branches

Limbs with no leaves in summer, or ones that are cracked and hanging, can fall without warning and should come down.

  • Branches over the roof

Limbs rubbing the roof or hanging over the house drop debris into gutters and can cause damage in high wind.

  • The tree is leaning or hollow

A new lean, cracks in the trunk, or mushrooms and decay at the base are all worth a closer look.

  • Storm damage

Split trunks, torn limbs and uprooted trees need careful handling. Don't try to cut wood that's under tension yourself.

  • A stump is in the way

Old stumps get in the way of mowing, sprout new shoots and take up space you could use. Grinding clears them out.

The walkthrough Guillermo sent Elizabeth was out of town during the job, so the crew filmed the finished yard for her.

★★★★★

“Highly recommend Guillermo and his crew!”

Such a great experience, best communication, pricing, professionalism and quality of service we have ever had living in IL. Especially the west suburbs. I couldn't believe the excellent work this team did, especially after all the crazy storms recently. We were out of town when the work was done and Guillermo was nice enough to send me this thorough video of his work!

“Taken care of our lawn like it was his own.”

Jake has been our lawn guy for 3 months due to myself having surgery. Jake shows pure professionalism, and has taken care of our lawn like it was his own. Lots of pride in mowing, weed eating, and leaf blowing every time he tended to our lawn. If you're looking for a guarantee lawn service, then call Jake! Best prices, and service!

Tree trimming & removal FAQ

Questions, answered.

Something else? Call or text 630-746-4248.

Do you handle storm-damaged trees?

Yes. Removing storm-damaged trees is part of our tree work. Call or text with photos of the damage and we'll talk through next steps and scheduling. If a tree is touching a power line, stay away from it and contact the utility first.

Can you remove a tree close to my house?

Often, yes. We use rigging to lower sections in a controlled way when there's no room to drop a tree whole. We'll look at the setup and explain how we'd approach it before quoting.

What's left after stump grinding?

Grinding leaves a mix of wood chips and soil where the stump was, below ground level. Ask us about filling and seeding the spot afterward so it blends back into the lawn.

When is the best time to prune?

Many trees are best pruned in late winter while they're dormant, when the branch structure is easy to see. Dead or dangerous limbs can come off any time of year. We'll let you know what suits your trees.

Do I need to be home for tree work?

It helps to be available at the start so we can confirm what's being cut, but it isn't always necessary. We'll go over everything in the estimate so you know what to expect.
